VIDEO: Time-lapse chronicles offseason-long demolition and reconstruction of Wrigley Field’s lower level | Dump Truck Company

Long before Cubs pitchers and catchers reported for spring training for the 2018 Major League Baseball season, construction crews had reported to Wrigley Field to perform a major renovation of the historic stadium’s lower level.

A time-lapse video from EarthCam shows the lengthy renovation in its entirety. You can check it out below.

According to a report from Cubed Chicago, crews demolished and rebuilt “hundreds of lower level seats to make way for larger dugouts, two batting cages and updated accommodations for visiting teams…Fans arriving at Wrigley this season will also notice renovations to the concourse level, expanded concessions, a pair of new elevators and the creation of the luxurious—albeit windowless—American Airlines 1914 Club behind home plate.”

Curbed reports that two more premium clubs are expected to be built for 2019. After the 2018 season concludes, crews will head back to Wrigley to perform upgrades to the upper deck.
