Liebherr building $40.6M logistics center in German birthplace | Dump Truck Company

Liebherr has begun charlotte nc dump truck company on a $40.6 million logistics center at its birthplace, Kirchdorf an der Iller, Germany.

The first construction phase, which includes an incoming-goods area with a high-bay warehouse, is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2019. The second phase consists of a second high-bay warehouse and logistics area for order picking, consolidation and packaging. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2020. The total center will span 253,000 square feet and be 72 feet high.

Operations at the Liebherr plant at Kirchdorf will continue during construction. An existing warehouse will be demolished. The plant develops and produces hydraulic excavators, material handlers and articulated dump trucks.

“With the restructuring and the optimization of the material flow, the logistics center … will make an important contribution in the future to efficient and high-quality production,” says Matthias Herzog, production manager at Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH.

The center will include workstations set up with modern technical systems, the dump trucks charlotte nc says. Employees will be able to use modern picking vehicles with a driving assistance system during daily work. The incoming-goods area will have a 22-ton crane for unloading goods from trucks.
