900-hp “Transformer” Ford Super Duty’s liftable fenders, pull-out bumper hide tons of tool storage | Dump Truck Company

Designed as a blue collar dream truck, this 2019 F-250 “Transformer Work Truck” stole the show this year at Ford’s SEMA booth.

Built for Ford by DeBerti Design, this custom Super Duty “redefines what it means to be the boss,” Ford says. But “bosses” are far from the only folks that would get a kick out of this truck. It’s likely to put a smile on the face of every heavy charlotte nc dump trucks and diesel technician out there.

In Las Vegas earlier this month, SEMA 2018 show attendees hurried over to the truck with dropped jaws upon seeing its driver-side rear fender lifted high into the air by a pair of custom built supports.

Then, a smile would spread across their face after they got a glimpse of the tool drawers and storage hiding beneath that fiberglass fender.

Service-body-type storage hiding beneath that raised fender.

At the show, only one fender was raised, but as this photo attests, both can be lifted.

Massively strong, extremely capable and incredibly stylish, this F-250 Super Duty 4×4 Transformer Work Truck by DeBerti Design redefines what it means to be the boss.

Then the truck’s rapt audience would notice that the fenders aren’t the only moving piece of this truck’s design: the rear bumper pulls out like a giant drawer. At the SEMA show it was outfitted with a Miller welding rig.

But “toolbox in disguise” doesn’t really do this truck justice. It’s also a beast when it comes to performance and off-road capability, making sure that mechanics not only have all the tools they need, but also ensuring they’ll be able to access a broken-down rig no matter where that machine or truck has come to rest.

Built atop an F-250 Lariat 4×4 Crew Cab, the Transformer Work Truck is powered by Ford’s 6.7-liter PowerStroke V8 diesel paired to a TorqShift 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the engine has been modified with the addition of a twin-turbo kit from Midwest Diesel & Auto and Fleece Performance Engineering.

The mod features a No Limit Fabrication air-to-liquid intercooler, EGR kit and cold-air intake, and a performance deisel tailpipe from Ford. With this setup, Proformance Diesel has dialed in a massive 900 horsepower.

The truck also features a Cognito Motorsports suspension, Eibach coils, adjustable Fox Shocks, Hellwig Products airbags and sway bars, and rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich KR2 tires wrapped around 17-inch Ultra-Wheel beadlock wheels.
