Cat’s VP of Excavation leaves company | Dump Truck Company

Zach Kauk, current vice president of Caterpillar’s Excavation Division, is leaving the company.

Zach Kauk, vice president of the Caterpillar’s Excavation Division, is leaving the dump trucks charlotte nc to pursue other opportunities.

Replacing Kauk will be Tom Frake, current vice president of Global Power Solutions Division (GPSD). Both moves are effective immediately, according to a Caterpillar press release.

“Tom’s deep expertise in both the machine and engine businesses, as well as his broad global experience during his more than three decades at Caterpillar, will position him well to lead the excavation team,” says Tom Pellette, Caterpillar group president of Construction Industries. “We thank Zach for his significant contributions and years of service to Caterpillar and our customers.”

As vice president of the Excavation Division, Kauk handled worldwide, end-to-end responsibility for track and wheeled hydraulic excavators and purpose-built forestry machines.

He joined Caterpillar in 1989 and has held a variety of positions around the world, including worldwide product manager for EXD; regional product manager for HEX in Geneva, Switzerland; regional product manager for Global Paving in Beijing, China; technical manager for Medium Wheel Loaders in Gosselies, Belgium, and multiple engineering and marketing roles in the United States.

Tom Frake

Frake, as vice president for the Global Power Solutions Division, had responsibility for sales and product support for the global electric power, oil and gas and marine businesses – while also manufacturing various products for these markets.

He serves on the board of Black Horse, a joint venture between Caterpillar Inc. and Ariel Corporation. Additionally, Frake is president and director of Caterpillar Asset Intelligence.

Frake joined Caterpillar in 1986, and prior to his appointment to vice president in 2012, he held a variety of sales, marketing, product development and management roles across Caterpillar’s global portfolio, including leadership positions in Singapore, Chile and the United States.
