Panther Island bridge project progresses in Fort Worth | Dump Truck Company

The City of Fort Worth reports significant progress on the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) Panther Island project, which includes three signature bridges over the Trinity River.

The next three months are expected to show even more progress. Highlights include the following:

  • Texas Sterling, TxDOT’s contractor for the North Main Street Bridge, was scheduled to pour the third of four, bridge V-piers near the end of February, using approximately 210 cubic yards of high-strength concrete. The contractor has also started erecting the bridge’s superstructure at the north end of the bridge, allowing for the construction of box girders to support the future bridge deck.
  • The White Settlement Bridge contractor is installing box girder steel over the first two sets of V-piers on the west side of the bridge. The first bottom slab section of the box girders was expected to be poured in late February.
  • The Henderson Street Bridge contractor poured two of the eight V-piers of the bridge and installed most of the reinforced steel on three other V-piers.

The Panther Island project is a collaborative effort between the Trinity River Vision Authority, TxDOT, the City of Fort Worth, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Tarrant County.
