Carlson Paving plans to debut its two new wheeled city pavers at this year’s Bauma show in Germany as it seeks a broader global reach by entering the 1.8-meter (5.9-foot) city paver market.

Designed for paving paths, city streets and rural roads, the CP60 and CP65 pavers are powered by Deutz engines in either Tier 4 Final or Tier 3 packages.

They have an application rate of 250 metric tons per hour and speeds up to 9.9 mph. They also feature Carlson’s EZC34 electric-heated screed, which has a paving width of 1.8 to 3.4 meters (5.9 to 11.1 feet). The screed is available in vibratory and tamper bar models and can be extended to 4.5 meters (14.7 feet) with bolt-on extensions.

“The introduction of the CP60 and CP65 marks a historic milestone for Carlson,” says Chris Colwell, president of Carlson Paving Products. “As a major manufacturer of small pavers and market leader in asphalt screed technology in North America and Australia, these city pavers are a natural fit as we expand our product offering to a wider global audience.”

Bauma will be held April 8-14 in Munich and the Equipment World team will be covering all the big news at the show. More than 3,500 exhibitors from 60 countries will be at the show and 600,000 visitors are expected. Expanded to 18 halls, the exhibition boasts 2.1 million square feet of indoor exhibit space and an additional 4.5 million square feet  of outdoor space.

Bauma’s square footage is now more than 2.5 times that of ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017, according to show organizers.

Carlson will display its products at the Astec Industries’ stand at FS. 1109/4.
