Located in Boston, the Shaughnessy Companies has provided crane rental and related lift solutions for more than 100 years. Founded in 1916, the company’s crane fleet ranges from 15 to 275 tons in capacity, and includes a supporting truck fleet.

Maxim says it will begin integrating the Shaughnessy Companies’ holdings with its existing operation after the sale is completed. “Through Maxim’s coast-to-coast footprint, engineering, operated rentals and heavy haul services, the Shaughnessy Companies team and customers will gain access to one of the largest modern fleets of full service lifting solutions in the world,” Maxim says in a release.

Paul Preziosi will serve as vice president of the New England region for the combined S&A/Maxim division.

Maxim also recently announced the acquisition of B & G Crane Service, located in New Orleans. Maxim currently serves more than 10,000 customers through its fleet of more than 2,600 cranes in 56 branches.
