The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) awarded the $275 million SAC 5 corridor enhancement project in Sacramento to Granite and Teichert in a 50-50 joint venture between the two, The Construction Index reports.

According to Caltrans, the charlotte nc dump truck company will include rehabilitating 67 lane-miles of Interstate 5 with a pavement that will last 40 years. It will also include adding 23 miles of high-occupancy vehicle lanes, eight maintenance vehicle pull-outs, and two sound walls, as well as replacing the Casilada Way Pedestrian Overcrossing to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

The two companies plan to recycle the existing concrete pavement and other materials on site to help reduce waste, cost, and haulage.

Construction is expected to start later this year and take a total of two years to complete.
