U.S. debut: Merlo intros Roto R50.35 S-Plus telehandler with 115-foot lift | Dump Truck Company

The Merlo Roto R50.35 S-Plus telehandler with 115-foot lift is now available in the United States.

Imported from Italian manufacturer Merlo and sold by Applied Machinery Sales of Rock Hill, South Carolina, the Roto50.35 S-Plus features a tilt cab with integrated controls, 89-foot reach, a maximum capacity of 10,900 pounds and a 360-degree rotating turret.

The modular cab increases the operator’s view, thanks to a curved glass windshield and the cab’s ability to tilt up 20 degrees for a better view of the fully extended boom.

An interactive electronic capacitive joystick mounted onto the multifunctional armrest controls the machine. A miniature mouse on the joystick controls turret rotation. The armrest has two sensors automatically detecting the presence of the operator’s hand, preventing accidental joystick movements. Exterior handles have been placed for easier cab access, as well as a second ladder on the engine side.

The telehandler’s Advanced Safety System collects and analyzes such machine parameters as load position, boom extension angles, turret and carriage rotation, stabilizer position and load weight in real time to create the load diagram. The data are visually presented on an LCD screen. The ASCS also automatically recognizes and incorporates  attachment information into the data.

The R50.35 S-Plus runs on a 170-horsepower engine. The telehandler can accelerate from 0 to 25 mph without torque interruption or pausing for gear change. The electronically controlled EcoPowerDrive hydrostatic transmission reduces fuel consumption without losing performance, the dump trucks charlotte nc says. A CVTronic transmission is optional.
