Bruckner Truck Sales technician team grabs top honors in Mack Masters Competition | Dump Truck Company
Technicians from Bruckner Truck Sales took away top honors in the Mack Masters Competition, a biennial event designed to evaluate participants’ knowledge of Mack Trucks service systems and procedures.

Calling themselves Team “#Rise For The Anthem,” team members Aaron Toomer, Justin Malone, Ted Pfister and Joey Wardrip successfully completed several rounds of competition, including a comprehensive final challenge.
The 2019 Mack Masters Competition kicked off in November, 2018. Mack says a record number of entrants participated, with about 2,000 individuals on more than 500 teams. In the competition’s early stages, three rounds of online tests challenged each competitor’s knowledge of Mack’s service procedures and related systems. Ten teams of finalists were named from the company’s sales and service regions in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Peru and Latin America.
For the final challenges, each finalist team competed at five hands-on stations, where they were assigned a specific service situation that had to be completed in 30 minutes. Results from all stations were then tallied to determine the champion team.
Other finalist teams were: “Trunnion City Masters” from M&K Truck Centers in Des Plains, Illinois; “Bergey’s Bulldogs” from Bergey’s Truck Centers, Souderton, Pennsylvania; “TranSource Titans” from TranSource Truck & Trailer Centers in Greensboro, North Carolina; “Mobile Fleet Service” from Mobile Fleet Service in Wenatchee, Washington; “Top Dogs” from Lounsbury Truck Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada; “Hermosillo” from Tractoremolques del Noroeste in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico; “Dream Team” from Mack Peru; and “Bulldogs United” from Salfa in Chile.
Apprentice Team
For the first time ever, the event included a team of apprentices with fewer years on the job.

Calling themselves “Pac Coast One,” the winning apprentice team was out of Pacific Coast Heavy Truck Group in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Not only did this team score at the top of all apprentice teams competing from both North and South America, its score was close to the competing times of all teams involved in the final.
To qualify to be on this team, the combined experience of all four team members could not exceed 16 years. Members of this team completed the same online challenges, and the top scoring team among apprentice teams make it to the finals.

All Mack Masters participants received a $1,200 Visa cash card along with a customized plaque featuring their personal comic cover illustration.
The winning team receives individual championship trophies and a large dealership trophy. Each member also received a HP laptop with a VOCOM connector, which provides communication/translation between a vehicle and the computer.
The competition is conducted by the Mack Trucks Academy, which is responsible for developing and implementing Mack service training and aftermarket support programs.
