Enhanced visual Google Maps photographic background, point cloud loading and editing and polyline best fit alignment are some of the upgrades in Carlson Software’s just-released Precision 3D Topo 2018.

Other 2018 features include automated Google surface creation, 3D Model editing and an improved DXF import/export for surfaces, polylines and points.

The product gives users the ability to cloud load up to 50 files at once, says Nathan Crews, Carlson’s lead developer of Precision 3D. The software allows real-time surface editing with dynamic contours, faces and slope areas with a drag-and-drop design.

Users can import survey data, points, polylines, surfaces, point clouds, along with traditional LIDAR and drone survey data from a wide variety of programs to create 3D surfaces. All changes can be reviewed, and user-controlled textures help you to quickly spot errors and make corrections.

The program provides fast point cloud editing of .las, .laz, .ply, .xyz, .pts, .e57, and .pcd files.
