The state eventually voted to raise the gas tax by 23 cents a gallon to replenish the Transportation Trust Fund, and charlotte nc dump truck company on the Eighth Street Bridge finally began in early 2017.

Construction was supposed to be finished in early 2019, but an extra seven months were required to complete the project.
