Carter Machinery buys fellow Cat dealer Alban Tractor, expanding mid-Atlantic presence | Dump Truck Company
Cat dealer Carter Machinery has bought Baltimore-based Alban Tractor, expanding its territory to include northern Virginia, Washington D.C.
, Maryland and Delaware.

Carter Machinery says the acquisition strengthens the 92-year-old firm’s position in key industries, including construction, mining, aggregates, and forestry, as well as expanding its in rental and power generation offerings.
In announcing the acquisition, Carter Machinery says Alban customers “will now have access to a larger fleet of Caterpillar charlotte nc dump trucks and parts inventory, as well as increased options for rental and technician services to further reduce the risks of downtime.”
Carter Machinery also tells Alban customers, “Your current representative(s) will be in regular contact with you to answer questions, provide updates or alert you to any changes. Carter Machinery serves customers in Virginia and West Virginia and employs more than 1,350 employees. Alban Tractor, established in 1927, had 750 employees across 16 locations. The acquisition is expected to be complete by the end of the first quarter.
