Pat Coleman has joined Alberici as vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Mike Zorich has been named chief operations officer for IMEG. As a managing principal of the firm and most recently vice president of health care, he has more than 21 years of experience, all with IMEG. Zorich was instrumental in the creation of the company’s market sector development structure and is a contributor to the firm’s thought leadership strategy. He is a licensed mechanical engineer and was health care client executive for IMEG’s Quad Cities office prior to becoming director of health care in 2019 and vice president in 2022. He takes over for IMEG’s previous COO, Jeff Pratt, who has retired from the firm.
McGough Construction, a construction firm, developer and facilities manager, has named Adam Douglas to its Des Moines team as a project executive. During 16 years in the industry, Douglas has focused primarily on health care construction in Iowa. In his new role, Douglas will help ensure collaboration between project teams, subcontractors and consultants. His involvement will span both the preconstruction and construction phases, where he will assume overall responsibility for each project’s successful outcome. Based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, McGough opened its Des Moines office in 2013.
Carl Dennin has been named health care market segment leader for Messer Construction Co. Dennin has been with Messer for 21 years. In 2007, he helped establish the company’s regional office in Indianapolis, where he serves as vice president of operations. He will continue in this role as he takes on leadership of the health care market segment across Messer’s 11 regions in the Midwest and Southeast.
Moody Nolan, the nation’s largest African American-owned architecture firm, has named Jodi van der Wiel as principal and senior project designer. Van der Wiel will lead teams across project sectors that include student life, higher education, recreation, wellness, K-12 education, housing, sports and workplace design. She will also be one of several leaders spearheading Moody Nolan’s design studio, Studio 9. With designers across the country, Studio 9 is a cross-disciplinary think tank that supports iterative, consensus-based design that is responsive to client vision and values. Founded in 1982 with two employees in Columbus, Ohio, Moody Nolan has grown to 360 employees across 12 offices.
Wolverine Building Group, a construction firm headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mich., has promoted Kurtis Fritz to director of construction, focused on the multi-unit residential market. After graduating from Michigan State University, Fritz began his project management career working in concrete, later turning to residential remodeling and historic renovation. He also worked for retailer Meijer Inc. in construction management, supervising multiple concurrent projects.
Brett Coleman recently became a full-time civil designer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Kansas City, Missouri, office. He joined Hanson in 2022 as an intern. As a civil designer, he primarily will provide design and construction observation for railroad track and yard projects.
