Illinois Tollway Seeks Bids for $28M in Highway Projects | Columbus Ohio Dump Trucks

Engineering firms have until Feb. 2 to provide proposals for planning, engineering, design and construction management services for eight new roadwork contracts that are expected to be awarded in 2024.

The Illinois Tollway is seeking engineering firms to provide planning, engineering, design and construction management services for eight new contracts valued at $28 million and anticipated to be awarded in 2024. 

The contracts are related to columbus oh dump truck work in the 16-year, $15-billion Move Illinois capital program, which is intended to improve mobility, relieve congestion and reduce pollution while creating approximately 165,000 jobs, according to the Tollway. 

The new projects include one contract for construction management services and two contracts for bridge design services on the Reagan Memorial Tollway, Interstate 88 , one contract for construction management services on the I-490 Tollway Project, one contract for planning studies upon request systemwide, one for bridge design services on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94), a contract for railroad bridge design services on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) and another for bridge design services systemwide.

Submissions are due Feb. 2. Contracts are expected to be awarded by the Illinois Tollway Board of Directors by summer or fall 2024, with columbus oh dump truck work expected to begin in 2024. 

In addition, as part of the Move Illinois program, the Tollway approved five contracts totaling $15 million in December. 

The December contract awards included a $9.8-million contract to AGAE Contractors for improvement at the Alsip M-1 maintenance facility on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), a $2.6-million contract to Foundation Mechanics of Chicago for storage building construction at the Gurnee M-4 maintenance facility on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94), a $1.1-million contract to K-Five Construction Corp. for ramp pavement repairs on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) at the Touhy Avenue Interchange and at the Dempster Street Interchange, a nearly $700,000 contract to Rock Road Cos. for ramp pavement repairs on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) at the Genoa Road Interchange, and a $630,000 contract to R.W. Dunteman Co. for ramp pavement repairs on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) at the Roosevelt Road Interchange. 

“We’re proud of how far this [Move Illinois] program has come and how successful it has been in delivering not only real mobility improvements and congestion relief to our customers, but also creating jobs and economic development opportunities across the region,” said Tollway Executive Director Cassaundra Rouse in a statement.
