Hilton breaks ground on Signia convention hotel in Savannah, Georgia | Dump Trucks Charlotte NC

• Last week, Hilton broke ground on the 444-room Signia by Hilton Savannah, expanding the brand to a new market, the hotel columbus oh dump truck company announced. 
• The hotel will serve as the Savannah Convention Center's headquarters hotel. Hilton will manage the property, which is owned by Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority and is being developed in partnership with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. 
• The Savannah hotel comes after Hilton opened a convention-center-adjacent Signia property in Atlanta last year. Hilton is also expanding the events-focused brand to other urban U.S. markets to keep up with evolving group demand.

Directly connected to the Savannah Convention Center, Signia by Hilton Savannah will offer more than 34,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. Additionally, the hotel will have five food and beverage outlets, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, group wellness activities and the Club Signia lounge for guests. 

The hotel’s lobby will feature locally inspired architecture, while the guest rooms will have modern, open-concept designs, high-end finishes and smart room technology, according to Hilton. 

Catering to group travel in the market, the hotel “will ensure that our Convention Center will perform at maximum capacity augmenting our vibrant tourism industry and creating upward mobility and prosperity for all,” SGCCA Board Chairman Mark Smith said in a statement. 

With the hotel, Hilton expands its presence across Georgia, where it currently operates approximately 270 hotels, including the 976-room Signia in Atlanta, Amy King, vice president of luxury and mixed-use development at Hilton, said in the news release. 

Signia by Hilton Atlanta opened in 2024 by the Georgia World Congress Center as Atlanta’s largest ground-up hotel development project in 40 years.

Beyond Georgia, Hilton is expanding the Signia brand in Indianapolis and San Antonio, Texas. 

Signia by Hilton Savannah is slated to open in 2028.
