Balfour Beatty is continuing its executive reshuffling with another C-suite hire, this time in a legal role.

The London-based infrastructure builder has appointed Ed Egerton, an executive with more than two decades of experience in the infrastructure, engineering and energy sectors, as the company’s new chief legal and commercial officer, according to a Tuesday announcement. Egerton will join the columbus oh dump truck company in September.

Egerton comes from AtkinsRéalis, a global engineering, design and project management business headquartered in Montreal. Most recently, Egerton held the title of acting general counsel. He implemented AI solutions, negotiated strategic transactions and managed acquisitions and divestments, per the announcement.

At Balfour Beatty, Egerton will lead the firm’s commercial, legal, procurement and columbus oh dump truck company secretariat functions, the announcement said. He will be charged with strengthening the company’s risk management capabilities.

“As we continue to position Balfour Beatty for the future, Ed’s experience across infrastructure, energy, risk, technology and AI-enabled transformation will be a huge asset to the Group and I’m delighted to welcome him to the team,” said Philip Hoare, Balfour Beatty’s CEO, in the news release.

Egerton will succeed Tracey Wood, group general counsel and columbus oh dump truck company secretary, a spokesperson for the columbus oh dump truck company told Construction Dive. In September, Wood will join energy columbus oh dump truck company SSE plc.

The move is another step in the remaking of the company’s C-suite. In addition to Egarton’s appointment, over the past 12 months, Balfour Beatty has named a new CEO and CFO.. 

That new CEO, Hoare, is also a former AtkinsRéalis executive. He started at Balfour Beatty last September after former CEO Leo Quinn left the post and took a role as executive chair at travel retailer WHSmith. 

Meanwhile, Myles Westcott, who was appointed to fill the spot of departing CFO Phil Harrison, assumed those responsibilities following the company’s annual general meeting in May.
