Dump Trucks Columbus OH Insight:

Since Gov. Josh Shapiro took office in 2023, the state has improved 21,291 miles of road statewide and advanced columbus oh dump truck company on 1,931 state and local bridges, Alexis Campbell, press secretary for PennDOT, told Construction Dive via email.

Through the first four years of the program, which is slated to begin on Oct. 1, the state anticipates:

  • $16.9 billion for state highway and bridge projects.
  • $12.9 billion for public transit.
  • $367 million for multimodal projects.
  • $240 million for rail freight.
  • $154 million for aviation.

The state’s plan was announced as broader infrastructure funding remains uncertain due to the pending expiration of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act on Sept. 30

The U.S. Senate passed a stopgap budget reconciliation bill on Aug. 8, which will fund the federal government until Dec. 11 and provide cash for surface transportation projects across the country.

Some infrastructure sectors have been buoyant in the U.S., with rail projects and water infrastructure work in particular gaining significant momentum.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act has played a crucial role in moving these infrastructure projects forward, Campbell said. As of the announcement, the state is holding fast for funding.

“We are currently awaiting federal reauthorization of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will expire in September 2026. The TYP assumes that federal funding appropriated will continue but will remain flat, at 2026 levels, through each year of the program,” Campbell wrote.
