As we enter the second half of 2020, event planners are rethinking the rest of the year’s conferences and expos. Many are being hosted virtually or rescheduled.
Below is a list of virtual and in-person construction events for the rest of the year.
Online: AGC 2020 Federal Contractors Virtual Conference
June 8-12
The Federal Contractors conference from the Associated General Contractors of America will include information on new bills, legislation, budgets, forecasts, executive orders and regulations affecting the commercial construction industry.
Online: ABC Virtual Legal Conference
June 18
The one-day online conference from Associated Builders and Contractors will have legal experts and government officials discussing the different impacts to the construction industry’s legal landscape due to the coronavirus.
Online: CFMA’s Virtual Conference
June 22-26
The Construction Financial Management Association has moved its in-person conference to a virtual platform. The weeklong event will still have presentations from industry experts, as well as general sessions, breakouts and roundtable discussions.
Online: Safety 2020 Professional Development Conference & Exposition
June 23-25

As of June 1, the NAWIC plans to hold its 65th annual conference in person in Houston. The organization said it is still observing possible developments and looking for the safest way to present the conference.
New Date: Building Innovation 2020 Conference and Expo
August 16-19
Originally scheduled for April 6-9, the pandemic caused the Building Innovation 2020 Conference and Expo to August. The four day conference will take place in Arlington, Virginia.
New Date: Associated Builders and Contractors Convention
August 17-19
The ABC has pushed its 2020 convention from March to August. The Nashville event will feature keynote speakers, education sessions and networking opportunities, as well as awards for columbus oh dump truck company and managers.

August 24-25

This conference, scheduled for in-person in San Diego and sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council, showcases leaders in green building and sustainable construction, highlighting design, new technology, building systems and green materials.

Nov. 16-19
Autodesk announced that all its conferences, including Autodesk University, would go virtual for 2020. No changes to dates have been announced. The event explores how AEC pros can better use BIM and other new technologies to improve building construction, design and engineering.
