Not all users have been so lucky. The commission said in the recall notice that 61 people have reported overheating during charging or use. Additionally, five people reported fires, and four people reported minor burn injuries.

The earbuds have been on the market since July 2019 up until the present and retail for $60. They were also sold on-location at Home Depot, Lowe's and other electronics and hardware stores.

DeWalt has not yet commented on the situation on its website. Additionally, The Verge reported that E-filliate didn't return a request for comment on whether the replacement earbuds would be made with fixes.
