Jacobs wins $310M UK nuclear site project | Dump Trucks Charlotte NC

  • Jacobs Engineering Group has been selected to deliver civil, mechanical and electrical engineering services for one of the U.K.’s most complex nuclear sites.
  • The five-year contract with Sellafield at the Sellafield site in Cumbria is valued at $310 million, according to a press release, and forms part of a joint venture with British facilities management firm Mitie.
  • Dallas-based Jacobs has worked for more than 40 years to guide Sellafield’s decommissioning, waste management and environmental remediation, according to its website.

Jacobs maintained it was well-positioned to add to its backlog in sophisticated facility construction during its second fiscal quarter earnings call in May.

The construction services firm has delivered engineering design and safety case services to Sellafield since 2012 as part of the Design Services Alliance (DSA). The DSA is an alliance between Sellafield and major contractors in the nuclear supply chain.

Jacobs also recently announced a $3.9 billion NASA contract earlier this month. The construction services firm will provide engineering, design, development, technology, facility operation and maintenance columbus oh dump truck company for the project. 

Jacobs reported growth in revenue, profits and backlog during its second fiscal quarter call. That’s largely due to key projects won from the U.S. government, including contracts with the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command Support at Fort Meade, Maryland, and the Department of Defense Artificial Intelligence Centers in Arizona, Florida and Texas, as well as its BlackLynx acquisition in November.
