  • A four-story, 120,000-square-foot office facility at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, is on track for an October finish date, according to a spokesperson for Boston-based architecture firm SGA, which designed the building. 
  • Separate from an ongoing, $225 million renovation project at the NFL stadium, the structure is the first phase of a new, multipurpose building for the New England Patriots, International Forest Products and the Kraft Group, which are all owned by billionaire Robert Kraft.
  • SGA partner Michael Schroeder told Fast Company the project's eight-month construction schedule from groundbreak to opening was about a third of the time of a typical building of its size.

Quincy, Massachusetts-based general contractor Dellbrook | JKS broke ground in February, the SGA spokesperson said, and should be able to complete the building for its scheduled October opening.

The compressed timeline required intense planning and foresight during the preconstruction phase, according to an SGA press release shared with Construction Dive. 

That meant project teams purchased building materials, such as steel and MEP equipment, well in advance to avoid problems with supply chain snarls

The project team also used SGA's project management platform, called SGA Dashboard, which identifies project milestones and issues, to drive and overlap the design and coordination process. 

SGA said it designed the new office to columbus oh dump truck company with the stadium’s original architecture and interior building flow, and that it is flexible enough to accommodate additional floors in the future.

Suffolk Construction is leading the renovations on the stadium itself, with 75,000 square feet of hospitality space, an enhanced lighthouse and the largest outdoor HD video board in the United States, according to the Kraft Group. That project, which includes south end zone improvements, is scheduled for completion prior to the 2023 NFL season.
