$3B Dallas-area master plan to break ground this month | Dump Trucks Charlotte NC

The development team for The Mix in Frisco, Texas, will break ground this month on the first phase of the immense mixed-use master planned community. Dallas-based developer StreetLights Residential will manage the residential section, which will encompass approximately 3 million square feet across several buildings on the southeast portion of the site, according to a press release on the groundbreaking.The unit count has not been disclosed.

“Our team has taken great care to craft unique experiences and tastefully designed buildings that will allow residents to navigate more approachable neighborhood blocks and create moments of discovery within an urban fabric,” said Greg Coutant, vice president of development for StreetLights Residential, in the release.

Once complete, the $3 billion, 112-acre property will also include: 

• 2 million square feet of office space.
• 375,000 square feet of retail, including a grocery store.
• A 200-room boutique hotel and a 400-room business hotel.

The development will circle around a 9-acre central park designed by Solana Beach, California-based landscape architect OJB. Amenities at the park will include an event lawn, performance pavilion, playgrounds, promenades and a pond. A total of 20 acres of green space will be incorporated across the property, featuring natural landscapes with local plants.

The project is expected to be complete in 2026.
