$150M Spokane Airport terminal expansion tops out | Dump Trucks Charlotte NC
The Spokane International Airport’s $150 million terminal expansion and renovation project celebrated a big milestone last week. Contractors placed the final steel beam on April 20, marking the end of the structural build for the Concourse C expansion, KREM reported.
The 144,000-square-foot Terminal C expansion known as TREX will add three new gates and six ticket counter locations, per the airport. On the east side of the concourse, ground boarding gates will be replaced with three passenger loading bridges, and other gates will be upgraded. The terminal will also get security improvements and its HVAC systems will be updated.
This is the airport’s most significant expansion, according to the Spokesman-Review. Spokane, Washington-based Garco Construction and Sparks, Nevada-based Q&D Construction are the project contractors.
The effort is funded through a combination of bonds, passenger facility revenue and federal funding, including an $11 million grant from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’s Airport Terminals Program, according to the airport.
The first phase of the project broke ground in October 2022, and is expected to be done by fall. The overall TREX project is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
