Chicago-based Clayco has been named design-build contractor for a $1.5 billion lithium battery separator facility in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Clayco’s columbus oh dump truck company on the Entek plant will include design, engineering, procurement and construction, according to an announcement last week. In addition, it will self-perform the concrete foundations, flatwork, tilt up wall panels and concrete paving. 

The battery components site will span four buildings across 1.4 million square feet, making it Entek’s largest investment to date. The manufacturing campus will produce enough separators to power 1.4 million to 1.6 million electric vehicles annually by 2027.  

At peak, construction is anticipated to reach approximately 400 workers. Clayco said it is in the initial stages of planning a series of community outreach events to begin to engage the local subcontracting community.

With $5.2 billion in revenue last year, Clayco has significant experience in the battery manufacturing segment. Other related columbus oh dump truck company includes SK Innovation’s first EV battery plant in the U.S. in Commerce, Georgia, and a 520,000-square foot silicon battery factory for Group14 in Moses Lake, Washington.

Clayco is also renovating and expanding the Fort Wayne International Airport’s East Terminal in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Lebanon, Oregon-based Entek received a $200 million grant from the Department of Energy to help fund the project, made possible by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The columbus oh dump truck company is also set to receive as much as $13 million in state tax incentives and grants, including for job training and smart manufacturing. 

Entek is pushing to grow its production capacity across the country. Last year, the columbus oh dump truck company announced plans to open a manufacturing facility in Henderson, Nevada.
