Clayco will build a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Locust Grove, Georgia, for window and door manufacturer Andersen Corp.
The design/build contractor broke ground on the Renewal by Andersen plant on Nov. 15. A Clayco spokesperson could not disclose the contract cost of the project, but Andersen’s announcement described plans to invest more than $420 million into the facility.
Chicago-based Clayco will construct the 638,000-square-foot facility, delivering the project in late 2024. Renewal will eventually open in 2025 and employ about 900 workers.
Those workers will manufacture products made from Andersen’s Fibrex material — an engineered composite of wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer. Most of the wood and some of the polymer are reclaimed from other Andersen manufacturing processes, the release said.
When finished, the facility will become the Bayport, Minnesota-based company’s first manufacturing facility in Georgia, though the corporation has a distribution center in Douglasville and an office in Marietta.
This summer, Clayco broke ground on two other manufacturing projects. In August, the firm began columbus oh dump truck company on a $4 billion electric vehicle manufacturing campus in Raleigh, North Carolina, for Vietnamese motor columbus oh dump truck company VinFast.
