Ford recalls thousands of 2018 F-150s due to shifting defect | Aggregate, Excavation, Dump Truck Company

All-new 3.3-liter V6 delivers even more power, torque and better EPA-estimated gas mileage than the previous 3.5-liter V6, further reinforcing how Ford F-150’s light-weighting strategy enables customers to get more done with two fewer cylinders

Ford is recalling 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.3-liter engine, a 6-speed transmission and a column mounted shift lever.

Quickly moving the shift lever from ‘park’ to ‘drive’ may cause a loss of gear indication on the instrument cluster display and a momentary selection of an unintended gear, such as ‘reverse’ or ‘neutral’ before the vehicle achieves ‘drive’ function. Ford reports that the recall may affect approximately 12,429 trucks.
